MFD Fire Games Strong Man Competition

Location: 110. West Juniata Parkway
POC:
Start Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026
Duration 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the 2nd edition of the MFD Fire Games!

We’re excited to welcome both familiar faces and new competitors for a full day of hard-hitting strongman events, roaring crowds, loud music, and great food for the entire family.

This year we’re bringing back everything you loved — and adding more.

Bring the kids! We’ll have a Kids Corner where the next generation of athletes can:

Pull small vehicles

Lift kid-friendly weights

Color and decorate their own trophies alongside their parents

PLEASE NOTE:

Seating is limited. We are expecting a large crowd, so please bring chairs!

EVENT DETAILS

WHERE: Millerstown Area Community Park

 WHEN: October 4, 2026

Weigh-Ins: 8:00 AM

Athlete Meeting: 9:30 AM

First Event: 10:00 AM

EVENTS

EVENT 1 – RESCUE LOADING LADDER

Athletes will load:

2 rolls of fire hose

2 fire hydrants

1 rescue dummy

onto platforms of increasing height as fast as possible.

Simple. Brutal. No gimmicks.

Allowed: Chalk, Gloves

Not Allowed: Tacky of any kind

EVENT 2 – AXLE CHAIN BUNDLE PRESS

An axle bar will be loaded according to weight class, with bundles of chains attached to the bar.

On the commands “ATHLETE READY” and “PRESS,” the athlete will clean and press the axle overhead. As the bar rises, the chains add increasing resistance throughout the press.

Men: ~100 lbs of added chain weight

Women: ~50–75 lbs of added chain weight

A crowd favorite from last year and an event unique to the MFD Fire Games — brought back bigger and better.

Allowed: Wrist wraps, Chalk, Gloves

Not Allowed: Tacky of any kind

EVENT 3 – BUCKET DUTY MEDLEY

Athletes will carry three pairs of 5-gallon buckets filled with water up an inclined ramp and load them onto a raised platform as fast as possible.

Inspired by the Arnold Classic frame carry with a firehouse twist — expect grip, lungs, and legs to be tested hard.

Allowed: Chalk, Gloves

Not Allowed: Lifting straps, Tacky of any kind

EVENT 4 – PINCH BLOCK HOSE HOLD

Inspired by the legendary Dinnie Stones.

Athletes will lift and hold a roll of fire hose in each hand for max time — but there’s a catch:

Your grip will be a 2×6 pinch block, testing thumb strength and grip endurance to the limit.

Looks easy. It’s not.

Allowed: Chalk

Not Allowed: Tacky of any kind

EVENT 5 – ARM-OVER-ARM FIRE TRUCK PULL

Athletes will sit inside a large tire and, using legs, back, arms, and grit, pull a fire truck arm-over-arm for maximum distance in 60 seconds.

A true strongman spectacle and an epic way to finish the show.

Allowed: Chalk, Gloves

Not Allowed: Tacky of any kind

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
